Marco & The Alley Cats

What do the earliest line-ups of Elvis, Johnny Burnette and Johnny Cash have in common? All were stripped-back, rockin' trios, relying on just 2 guitars and upright bass to hold down the groove - rhythm and melody. Drawing on the energy and style of these innovators, Marco & the Alleycats are a new rockin' trio that bring the raw sound of the 50s back to life! Featuring Marco Agostino on lead vocals and rhythm guitar (Continentals, Howling Moondoggies), Andy "Jumpin' Jack" Jarvis on lead guitar (Rocket to Memphis, Salt Flat Trio) and Jack Marsh on Bass (Savage Guns) the Alleycats perform a mix of 50s rockabilly, rock n roll and hillbilly jazz, for your dancing, listening and drinking pleasure! Marco & Andy have worked together for many years - most recently in the Rhythm Kings (2010-11) and they're no strangers to bustin' it out as trio either - Tornado Alleycats (2006-2008). The chemistry on the bandstand shows - these cats REALLY know how to lay it down - and tear it up!

Double bill line-up featuring...

The Oz Big Band are an 18-piece ensemble dedicated to recreating the music and energy of the great big bands of the 30’s, 40’s and 50s. The irresistible sound of the standard 17 piece big band ensemble in the 1930s and 1940s made the likes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and many others famous. The Oz Big Band takes this great ensemble of 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and 4 rhythm section and adds three male & female vocalists (so that makes 20 all up) to provide a sound that has once again become hugely popular.

Later…

Cheeky Monkeys are celebrating 10 years as a band! Formerly know as 'Big Shorts" these guys have been jammin for over a decade. And the experience shows! Featuring Michael Menna, Scott Armstrong, David Giuffre, Jon Tiedtke & Tony “Gorgs” Gorgone with lead vocalist Graeme Smailes (ex Wax, Aquarium). Check the out on facebook by clicking here.

They play a pumpin’ mix of party faves, from classic rock & pop to the latest R&B and dance hits, but most of all they just aim to have a whole lotta fun. Drop in to their regular gig at The Mustang Bar on Friday nights from 10pm and they’ll make sure you get ya party started!

Catch Johnny Law & The Pistol Packin' Daddies every Monday from 8.30pm, the band formed back in 2001 and since then has played all over the world. In late 2009 they conducted a European and U.S. tour playing at places like, High Rockabilly Festival in Spain, the Rockabilly Day festival in Belgium, the Rockabilly Rave in Las Vegas and many, many more locations around the globe. They're now back in Perth, Western Australia (Home) and enjoying all that Oz has to offer.

Later.. 10 Cent Billionaire take the stage from 11pm for the late shift, a multi-genre rock/pop/top40 featuring a group of talented musicians that know how to get the dance floor shaking with your favourite tunes. Playing the newest hits and classic tunes with plenty of suprises. Accompanied, as always, by  DJ & Musical Chameleon James Mac til 3am. A band not to be missed.

Peter Busher & the Lone Rangers play a blend of honky tonk country music and contemporary originals that get crowds screaming for more, a session not to miss. Peter Busher And The Lone Rangers have performed at the Mustang Bar in front of devoted punters every Sunday (except for the occasional tour) for the last eight years. Performing a great blend of original country and truckin’ classics to a diverse crowd who continually come back for more. They have honed a unique musical beast whose appeal cuts across all demographics. Busher and the musical abilities of his band; John Short (Guitar), Phil Morgan (Bass), Brian Booy (Drums) & the new “kid” Milton Quackenbush (Pedal Steel) delivers an extraordinary performance of sustained excellence thats impossible to ignore.
